B.V.B WRAPS UP 10 GREAT YEARS WITH A BANG!

On Friday night Burlington Vintage Baseball put an exclamation mark on 10 great years of vintage baseball. A full house gathered at King’s Court to toast the conclusion of the 2009 season. As the league continues to evolve the future looks tremendously bright. Already arguably the top Vintage association in the Country, the league will look at all options going forward to maintain interest and growth in the great game of baseball.

There were a number of awards that were handed out, but none were more rewarding than two B.V.B Hall of Fame inductions. In 2007 B.V.B members enshrined League Founder and President Jim Hambrook into the Hall. Prior to that two late players, Paul Depodesta and Myles Fleming, were both entered in memoriam. Two long time B.V.B members were entered on Friday as the Hall has expanded and made room for Player/Builder, Lee Mackey, who will be moving to Montreal to look after business matters and expand the Vintage baseball horizon and long time Builder, Walter Lutz, who has spent over 30 years as a manager, umpire and official of baseball in Burlington.

Over the course of 10 years the club program has been extremely successful and the Nationals/travel program has rivaled its success. With two Tier 1 National championships and two Tier 2 National championships followed by a Championship Final appearance narrow loss, the last 3 years have put B.V.B on the National map and targeted us as a baseball power.

As we move forward with plans for 2010, the support shown by you as a member will only continue to enforce our mission statement of “quality baseball for players 30 and over”

Please have a safe off season and remember “we don’t stop playing because we grow old we grow old because we stop playing.”

2009 Hobos Gold Cup Champs

HOBOS HIT the Jackpot!…

September 28, 2009

For the 6th time in the 10 year history of B.V.B the HOBOS have captured the Vintage Cup. This year a new play-off format was introduced to allow the top 8 teams to compete for Vintage Gold. The run began in late August with a quarter final match-up against the 2008 champions (the Red Sox).

The Train hoppers then went on a roll as they managed a 3 – 1 series win over the #2 seed Tigers and a sweep of the #1 seed Brewers in the Final. Interesting enough the BO's were the visiting team in all three series.

The Hobos wish to thank all there sponsors and supporters for being part of this 10 year anniversary celebration.

The team would also like to wish everyone a great off season and look forward to seeing everyone at the league wrap up party November 6th.

Cardinals 2009 Silver Cup Champs

Cards take the Silver! 3rd Seed beats 4th…

September 23, 2009

On August 28th 8 teams set out to capture League hardware; 26 days and 7 games later the Cardinals have claimed the second prize in the BVB trophy collection.

The Inaugural Vintage” Silver Cup” was claimed by the Redbirds after knocking off the defending Vintage Cup Champion Red Sox in 2 straight games. The #3 seeded Cardinals never looked back after dropping their opening round quarter final series. The Birds won 4 straight games to capture the Tier II version and can now add it to the trophy case beside their 2005 Legends Cup.

This was the first year where 8 teams were rolled into the Vintage Cup play downs with only the Hobos and Brewers still in the hunt for the Gold “Vintage Cup”

The League would like to congratulate the Cardinals on an outstanding season.

Mining for Silver and Gold…

September 3, 2009

The 10th year anniversary of BVB continues to roll along and with it so does change, with the league rolling out a new playoff formula that involved 8 teams.

The structure included an opportunity to advance into a Quarter Final, Semi Final and Final Series in two different pools. To reward merit the League has addressed this change in format with a modification to the award system and distinction between the three major team awards.

The winner of the final regular season standings (pennant) will as usual be awarded the Lutz Cup.

Upon conclusion of the opening round quarter final series the 8 teams will be divided into 2 pools. The winners will advance to the Gold Cup round and the Losers will advance to the Silver Cup round.

The Vintage Cup with its Gold hue will be awarded to the post season league champions and the Silver coloured Vintage Cup to the Tier-2 Champions.

The league will continue the playoffs in the Gold and Silver groups when action resumes Tuesday September 8th . Check the schedule for all game times and park locations.

See you at the Park.

POST SEASON HAS ARRIVED

August 26, 2009

With the completion of the regular season it is now time to buckle up and prepare for Post season play.

The 2009 season has brought a number of changes to the B.V.B scene including the addition of a new franchise and a new playoff format that features an opening 2 of 3 round allowing 8 teams the opportunity to advance to the Tier – 1 Vintage Cup playoff round. This years Legends Cup pool will be a ramped up version from previous years as the new 2-3 formula will extract 4 of the top 8 seeds into this round.

Teams 9-10 will also have the opportunity to participate in post season activity with a sanctioned entry to a selected Fall Vintage tournament.

2009 BVB Playoff Schedule...

August 17 , 2009

BVB Players,

With many thanks to Jay Hodgson – the 2009 BVB Playoff Schedule is set and released. We still have many more games to be played in the next week and a half, and these games will determine the final playoff seeding for the top eight squads.

The fist round is a best of three affair, with the winners of this series moving onto the Vintage Semi-Finals and the losers being relegated to the Legends Semi-Finals. The Legends Semi-finals and Finals are both best of three while the Vintage Semi’s and Finals are best of five. At the beginning of all semi finals and finals, the teams will be reseeded, based on the final regular season standings, with the top seeds being the home team for the series (games 1, 2 and 5 for the Vintage Series and games 1 and 3 for the Legends Series).

Please note; we have added a non-traditional night and some 4PM games on Sundays in order to ensure we get the playoffs in. Hopefully the weather co-operates with us, but it is extremely important that all GM’s have their teams ready to go on any given night should we encounter delays. It is fair to say that we could be forced to play on any given day through out the week if needed.

Good luck to all teams as we finish out the regular season and head into the playoffs. If you have any questions or concerns, please do so through normal contact procedures.

BVB SCHEDULING: IMPORTANT

August 11, 2009

Gent’s, Due to an inordinate amount of inclement weather it is vital that all BVB Team managers are up to the minute with Re-scheduled games.

The League scheduler has been working overtime to act as quickly and efficiently as possible with the City to get these games scheduled and move the regular season to conclusion over the next couple of weeks.

Due to an increase in play-off games, it is imperative to stay as close to the proposed start dates as possible. Please inform your team members that there will likely be alternate Game Days (Dates) that may or may or may not be regular BVB staples (Sunday, Tuesday, Friday).

Once the schedule is approved, dates will not be altered by request; only by weather conditions. Teams should be prepared to follow this process until the conclusion of 2009 post season play.

Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

X Marks the spot for Black 49ers / Gray 49ers Rank # 2

August 6, 2009

The 2009 Nationals in Yarmouth N.S are in the books, and while the story inside does not have the Roy Hobbs type ending it does feature a great cast of characters.

The 2 time defending National champion Black 49ers ran into a very strong home team that featured 5 MLB recruited players and a strong supporting cast.  The well rested Yarmouth Red Knights were not about to be trumped in there own back yard and knocked off the 2 time champs in the opener.  Thus ending an astounding 12 game unbeaten streak by the men in Black that began in Red Deer Alberta in 2007.

Much like the pitcher who has a perfect game through 8 than gives up 2 walks and a homerun in the 9th to lose 3-2 this is where we all stand and tip our caps in recognition of a feat that will only be measured by time. The loss only stung more when game 2 efforts were smothered as each player attempted to turn things around themselves and wound up on the short end of the scoreboard and standing on a tilted field. With nothing left to do but roll the dice and fight the fight, the Blacks did exactly that. They swallowed hard stood tall and battered the next 3 opponents and landed in the Tier2 National final.

After an air tight 7 innings the Black’s were locked in a 0-0 tie with another perennial powerhouse, the last team to be the National champions prior to the Black 49ers, the Petie de Gras Red Caps.  When the 8th inning was complete there would be no need for a 9th as the favorites from Burlington refused to be pushed aside despite there early misfortunes and won the game 1-0.

Congratulations are in order for all members of the Black 49ers.  The blacks finished the Tourney after playing the maximum amount of games with a 4-2 record and brought home the Tier2 National Championship.

The Gray 49ers went into this Tournament as significant underdogs after bowing out in the 2008 quarter finals with less fight than a puff of smoke.

The G-Men of 2009 with a number of new faces were about to stick a significant size stick square into the spokes of a couple of old friends machines.  After an opening game victory the Grays battled the D.S Rockers and handed the Powder blue a narrow 3-2 victory.  A later seeding loss with little significance had the Grays in a quarter final game battling their long time rivals.

From the Corn fields of Tecumseh the Green Giants, teamed with 6 members of the Presidents choice team from Hamilton.  The G’s wasted little time jumping the Giants from the first pitch and took a very solid victory and were now staring straight down the barrel of a semi final match up with the 2 time defending champions from Oakville, the Golden “A’s”.  The Grays put together an absolute clinic in every aspect of the game as play after play, pitch after pitch, hit after hit, there was to be no bend in the “will” of these players and it would pay off in the end as the Gray 49ers would hold on to end the A’s opportunity to 3peat and advance to the 44 National championship.

The Grays were now matched in the final against the very same D.S Rockers that they could not get by on day 2.  This day would be no different after 7 innings of exciting  play that featured two “bang-bang” plays at the plate.  The Fog cleared and the scoreboard had the hometown 49ers 2 runs short of the National title.  The gray 49ers finished the Tournament 3 -3 and like their younger brothers, played the maximum amount of games.

The BVB would like to congratulate the town of Yarmouth on a job well done in hosting this tournament and  send advance notice to our friends across the country that we can not wait to see them all again

YARMOUTH OR BUST…49er Baseball is on the Air!

July 27, 2009

This week, the focus on balls and strikes will shift from the friendly confines of BVB’s regular parks at Nelson, Ireland and Millcroft to Canada’s East coast and its “Fields of Dreams.”

BVB will be off to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia to once again participate in the Vintage National Championships for 2009. This years Canadian champions will be decided after former Blue Jay closer and 2-time World Champion, Duane Ward, throws out the first pitch to get the 26 team tourney underway.

BVB will be sending two teams to participate in the championships; the 44+ Grey 49ers, the 2007 tier 2 Champions and the current 2-time defending National Champion 35+ Black 49ers.
The Blacks have won back to back Championships in 2007 & 2008 and will look to become the first team in history to “three-peat.”

Keep your eye on this site for updates and feel free to send your support to your league and teammates throughout the Tournament.

The CHAMP is back...!

July 26, 2009

The CNOBF National tournament will be held this coming weekend in Yarmouth Nova Scotia.  For BVB players attending the tournament they are in the prestigious but unenviable position of having targets on their collective backs after having captured the National championship in 2007 and 2008.  Our league is loaded with talent and each year brings in a new crop of 35 year old players with eligibility for the tournament.  It is now the responsibility of those players to put pressure on the 2010 team to 4-peat.  Above all though, best of luck to all attending to play well and represent the Burlington Vintage Baseball league with the character, class and ability that our league is known for.

The Nationals tournament also signals the homestretch for the BVB regular season.  This 10th year of play has proven to be the best overall level of competition since the league’s inauguration in 2000.  The Brewers – the newest team to enter the league are currently in first place and have added tremendously to the overall strength of the league.  And while they appear to be the team to beat entering the playoffs, there are plenty of other teams with deep rosters and talent enough to claim the top prize.  The defending champion Red Sox will not relinquish their crown very easily and will play their best as the games become more meaningful.  The Tigers have been rejuvenated after winning the Legends Championship as the Yankees last year and then subsequently going through a name change.  The Cardinals currently sit in 3rd place and have received a lot of benefit from some offseason acquisitions that they hope will help give them a better showing than the previous two stretch drives.  The Marauders continue to be a tough opponent for every team, using their veteran leadership and savvy to come away with several key wins this season.  The Hobo’s are much further down in the standings than they’re used to, but nobody is fooled by that.  With championships in 2005, 2006 and 2007 they know how to play ball come the 2nd half of the season and postseason.  The Mud Hens are defending Lutz Cup winners and also fall in the category of teams who are not fooling anyone with their mediocre record.  They have the pitching and hitting to win it all if they can put it together.  The Cubs sit in 8th place but have some big victories on their record which were examples of the team putting all the pieces together at the right time.  Same goes for the Giants who have scored some big victories over tough opponents but haven’t done that consistently enough to be further up in the standings.  The X-Men currently sit in 10th place with just one win, however they followed a similar pattern last year and played some real solid ball in August to move up the ladder in advance of the playoffs.  In short, the BVB has more parity than it has ever had and it is a rare night that any team has an easy game.  It sets up for an exciting August and September as teams try to prove themselves to be the best in the league.  Good luck to everyone the rest of the way.

BVB, A big THANKS...!

July 20, 2009

BVB Friends and Colleagues:

A number of weeks ago, BVB league executive graciously allowed me to post to the website an open challenge to “trade your spikes for bowling shoes” to raise awareness and support for an event called Sam’s Day, in support of neuroblastoma cancer research at Sick Kids’ Hospital.

Today, I ask you to indulge me once again but this time so that I might offer my sincerest gratitude.

Just last week, Sam and a troupe of a dozen other friends and family made the annual trip to Toronto and this year we presented to Sick Kids’ a cheque for a Sam’s Day record $45, 000!!

Sam’s Day 2009 now goes on record as the best and most financially successful of our 5 years of Sam’s Day- and we couldn’t have done it without the fantastic support of all of our family, friends and the community.

Support from the BVB and it’s member teams and players was awesome, and we just can’t say thank you enough to those of you who took time out of your busy lives to embrace our cause through event participation, raising awareness, volunteering, donating auction prizes, sponsoring bowler(s), or in some cases all of the above!

Beyond the fun and camaraderie of the event itself, all of you are now part of leading-edge research that IS making a difference in the race to finds cures for childhood cancers.

Thanks again.

Defense the key to winning this year in the BVB...

July 18, 2009

When the league transitioned to wood bats for the start of the 2008 season it was widely thought that scoring was going to plummet as a result.  A look into the results of last year showed that there was no ‘significant’ drop in run production.  Fast forward to 2009 and the trend we thought would appear last year has finally materialized by way of a drastic reduction in runs scored and far more 7 inning games.

Multiple times this year there has been a 30 minute break between the 6pm and 830pm games due to the speed and low scoring of the first game.  So the question is, can this be attributed to the wood bat alone? The short answer is…not entirely.  The wood bat no doubt plays a part but why the difference in the second year of use instead of the first year?  Well, the general consensus around the BVB from players and umpires alike is that the league is just flat out better then it has ever been.  The quality of pitching, the defense you name it.  Our team for example the ‘MudHens’, we have managed to win 7 games thus far, we have won two games with a score of 3-2, one game 5-4, two games 5-1.  We have lost 6 games two of them by a score of 5-4 and low scoring 4-4 tie.

Pitching and defense has improved to the point that games for the most part are a faster moving cleaner played version then they once were.  The addition of many quality players throughout the league has made it a necessity for all teams to continue to recruit and make themselves better.  No more proof is needed then the vastly improved play of the Cubs, Giants and Marauders.  The Cubs play a sound clean defensive game, the Giants and Marauders have also added new players to bolster holes in their defense and their records show this.  The addition of the Brewers to the league has also raised the bar as they brought a team lock stock and barrel from another league and they can flat out play.

Every year there are some baseball players out there that turn 30 and the BVB offers as competitive baseball as can be found anywhere in the province as shown by back to back National Championships from a team drawn from the BVB.

For those of you not in our league that haven’t seen the quality of baseball being played come out see for yourself any Tuesday, Friday or Sunday night at either Nelson or Ireland Park, we’ll be the guys NOT in polyester shorts and knee high socks.

Golfers, Sponsors, Contributors...THANKYOU...

July 13 , 2009

To all those that attended and/or contributed,

Our 3rd Annual BVB Golf Tournament was completed this past Saturday July 11th at Carlisle Golf and Country Club, and thankfully the weather cooperated!!

Thank you very much to everyone who participated and made this day a success.  What makes this a huge triumph is the involvement not just from the golfers, but also from the many people who arranged sponsorships and donated door prizes and silent auction items.  If you were one of the many that were able to donate items, please accept my sincere thanks.

There are a few people that deserve to be recognized that have gone above and beyond that I would like to recognize:

Prize Packs – Many thanks to Steve Austen and Neath Industrial Safety for donating a portion of the prize packs.  It was mentioned to be by a few people how much they appreciated the sunscreen packs in the hot sun.  Thank you very much for your donation to our day!!

Silent Auction - As you are all aware, a large part of our fund-raising efforts are through the silent auction portion of the dinner:

Lee Mackey/Bauer Canada were able to donate many items that result in a large portion of the funds raised.  Lee also donates his time with assisting with the entire Silent Auction, including but limited to updating the league website as to the items available and printing all of the Silent Auction Sheets.

Randy Stanbury was responsible for arranging Echo Enterprises, which offered the opportunity to bid on many sports paraphernalia items.  I have already spoke with and followed up with Echo Enterprises and they are extremely happy with the results and look forward to being apart of any future fund-raising initiatives.

Hole Sponsorships – as I mentioned on Saturday evening, I would like to point out again the extraordinary efforts of a few individuals: Jake Smith, Tim Barnes, Gord Harris, Randy Stanbury and Terry Wilkinson.  Thank you very much for arranging these hole sponsorships.  I do point out and would like recognize Tim Barnes; he has not been able to golf with us the last two years, but still is able to generate two sponsorships for each of the past two years, this certainly somebody going above and beyond!!

Jake Smith – thank you very much for all of your extra efforts in the past few weeks with all of the signs and all the extra work you put in.

Registration Group – thanks to my wife Julie and also to Erin Smith and Jeanette Hambrook for their help at the registration desk.

Volunteers – Many thanks to the BVB Golf Volunteers – Craig and Andrea Carroll, Jason McKay, Jim Harrow and Brad Tupper, your assistance certainly helps in the day and I hope you all enjoyed yourselves.  As well – thanks to Adam Thoburn and Muck Poker Wear for their sponsorship and extra card game on the course.

Carlisle Golf and Country Club – I have heard nothing but positive remarks about the work that Neil Darragh and his staff at Carlisle Golf and Country Club did, they certainly were a great the help in all aspects.  Please consider Carlisle Golf and Country Club for your next round of golf.

Terry Wilkinson – I am receiving many thanks for the work done over the past month and half arranging our Golf Tournament.  Thank you very much to Terry Wilkinson for the all hard work and support that he has offered.  It is certainly not just me by myself doing the work - Terry certainly deserves recognition.  TERRY – WE CAN NOW GO BACK TO OUR DAY JOBS!!!

Again, thank you to all players who participated and were a part of this day, I hope you all had a great day.  If you were not able to be a part – you missed out on a lot of fun and hope you can join us next year!!

1st Weekend Results...

May 13, 2009

With games completed last night, every team in BVB has now seen action. The defending Champion Red Sox looked like they didn't miss a beat with an 11 - 0 win over the winless X-Men who dropped their opening game 7 - 6 against the revamped Cubs. The Marauders continued a early season surge as they handed the Hobos an opening game 5 - 4 loss and then came back to tie the Mud Hens 4 - 4 in last nights game. The Tigers began their season with a decisive 8 - 3 win over the Giants while the Cardinals spoiled the Brewers 1st BVB game by earning a hard fought 3 - 2 win.

After the 6 games in BVB the long ball has appeared with the Cubs Ryan Phillips connecting against the X-Men while Chris McCullough of the Red Sox also blasted one against the 'Men'.

The exhibition game between the Cardinals and Legends from Welland has been cancelled as Burger Park will remain dark on Thursday as Hydro crews update some transformers at the old yard. The Cardinals hope to find another date to play the boys from Welland.

The BVB goes dark this weekend in observance of the Victoria Day Weekend, so action will resume on Tuesday May 19th when the Brewers face the Giants in the early tilt while in the late game the Cardinals take on the X-Men.

With the exhibition season starting tonight, the BVB executive straightened up a few loose ends by releasing the updated Constitution, Rules and Playoff format.

With the addition of a 10th team to the league for the coming BVB Baseball year, your BVB executive has passed a new playoff format (effective immediately). As always, all teams will be playing meaningful games at the end of the regular season and have at least one playoff game!!

The top 8 teams based on their regular season finish will play in a best of three series (Seed 1 versus 8, 2 v 7, 3 v 6, and 4 v 5).  The higher seeded team will be the home team for games 1 and 3.  The winners of these series will be placed into the Vintage Cup Finals and the four losing teams will be placed in the Legends Finals

Winners of Round 1 will be re-seeded, based on regular season standings, highest seed plays lowest seed, and the two middle seeds play each other in a Best of 5 series.  Home team will be the highest seeded team for games 1, 2 and 5.  The winners of these Best of 5 series will then play for the Vintage Championship. Once again, the highest seeded team based on regular season standings will be the home team for games 1, 2 and 5 of the Best of 5 Championship Final. The losers of the respective series will be eliminated.

Legends Finals

Losers of Round 1 will be re-seeded, based on regular season standings, highest seed plays lowest seed, and the two middle seeds play each other in a Best of 3 series.  Home team will be the highest seeded team for games 1 and 3.  The winners of these Best of 3 series will then play for the Legends Championship. Once again, the highest seeded team based on regular season standings will be the home team for games 1 and 3 of the Best of 3 Championship Final. The losers of the respective series will be eliminated.

The two teams that finish the regular season in 9th and 10th will play a one game playoff.  The winner of this game will be given a free entry into a tournament in Oakville in September, this tournament is for ages 35+, which some players may be needed from other teams to complete rosters.

Obviously this format gives more teams an opportunity to play for the Vintage Cup while also allowing a second tier of playoffs.

BVB Unveils 10th Anniversary Logo

April 22 , 2009

10

As most of you already know, the BVB is entering it's 10th season this coming spring and with that milestone the BVB is proud to unveil the 10th anniversary logo.

This logo represents a lot of hard work by the many volunteers that have passed through the 'Hallowed Halls' of BVB. The league is proud to have grown in a positive way that allows the kids in us to continue to play the sport of baseball the way we love. The BVB is also proud of the many accomplishments made over the years and is especially proud that in our 10th year, we have expanded to 10 teams.

We do not stop playing because we grow old, we grow old because we stop playing.

The BVB looks forward to an exciting 10th season and continued growth as we approach the next 10 years.

Calling all BVB Players...

Trade in your Spikes for 'Bowling Shoes'

April 16 , 2009

BVB friends and colleagues:

I'd like to thank you in advance for investing some of your time and consideration to lend your support to a cause that has become somewhat of a springtime tradition.

Sam's Day is an awareness and fundraising family fun event that we conceived 5 years ago, when my youngest son Sam was diagnosed with a rare and deadly form of childhood cancer called Neuroblastoma.

Sam's continuing recovery from his cancer is a blessing, but the mortality rate for neuroblastoma is still alarming.  With the support of friends, family, and community, past Sam's Day events have raised over $130,000 for the James Fund, which supports leading edge investigation of neuroblastoma treatment therapies by researchers at Sick Kids' Hospital.

This year, Sam's Day Rock'n Bowl will be held on Saturday June 6th at Prime Time Bowl in Burlington.
There are plenty of ways to get involved (please review the literature and links) but I'd especially like to challenge each of the BVB teams to trade their spikes for bowling shoes for a day!

If I can answer any of your questions about how you can get involved, please feel free to contact me or my wife Andrea anytime. andrea@samsday.org

Again, thanks in advance for your support.

Cheers,
Jay Lack

The 'Champ' is back...!

April 7 , 2009

Despite the fact that Mother Nature is having some fun at our expense, the 2009 BVB baseball season marches ever closer. The turning of the calendar to April means that outdoor practices will begin shortly as teams try to ready themselves for another year. The season schedule has now been released and as per usual, the beginning of May will signify the start of the exhibition and regular season.

10 is a big number in the BVB this year. Firstly it is the 10 year anniversary for the league which had it’s inaugural year in 1999. 2009 also marks the first year where the league will field 10 teams as The Brewers have joined the Cardinals, Cubs, Giants, Hobo’s, Marauders, Mudhens, Red Sox, Tigers and X-Men to round out the league.

The Tiger’s (formerly the Yankees) are the reigning Legends Champions having completed a playoff sweep over the X-Men and Marauders respectively. The Red Sox hold the distinction of being BVB’s best as they swept the Hobo’s in the Vintage finals to capture their first ever league championship. Both the Legends and Vintage championships are sure to be hotly contested in 2009 as the competitiveness of the league continues to grow. While 10 may be a big number for the league this year, each team is hoping that #1 is how they are ultimately described.

Good luck to all teams in the stretch run leading up to the season, and indeed once the season begins.

BVB Teams continue Exhibition Play with Welland

March 29 , 2009

With what has become a baseball tradition, the BVB and the ‘Legends’ from Welland will once again play a full slate of exhibition games throughout the summer.  So far there have been 7 games scheduled with more to be added as BVB teams sift through their respective schedules to find the right time to either host the Legends or travel to Welland to take on their baseball brethren.  “These games are important in terms of playing groups that differ from the day to day life of BVB.  The Legends and Dan Radobenko are always extremely gracious hosts and put on a fantastic product on the field.”  This quote has been a constant theme echoed by various teams and their players that have participated in years past.

Games scheduled in Burlington: Nelson Park – 8:30pm
Tuesday June 2: Welland vs. Mud Hens
Tuesday June 16: Welland vs. Red Sox

Games scheduled in Welland: Burgar Park – 7:00pm
Thursday May 14: Cardinals vs. Welland
